Provisioning and Purchase
· Install new / rebuild existingservers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories,storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operationalrequirements.
· Develop and maintain installationand configuration procedures.
· Contribution to maintainInformation system standards and Policies in the network.
· Research and recommendinnovative, and where possible automated approaches for server administrationtasks.
Operations and Support
· Perform daily system monitoring,verifying the integrity and availability of all critical resources, reviewingsystem and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled BCP and DRactivity.
· Perform regular securitymonitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
· Perform backup and restorationoperations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfullybacked up to the appropriate media and periodic restoration is happeningsuccessfully
· Perform regular file archival andpurge as necessary.
· Provide support to systemadministrator to resolve issues.
· Complete execution of IncidentManagement, coordinate and communicate with reporting authority.
Maintenance
· Apply OS patches and upgrades ona regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure /add new services as necessary for Servers and Network appliances (e.g.Firewall, Access Points etc.).
· Maintenance of Network, Serverand database as per schedule activity or operational needs.
· Maintain operational,configuration, or other procedures related to Servers and Network.
· Perform periodic performancereporting to reporting head.
· Perform ongoing performancetuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required in serverfarm.
· Maintain data centerenvironmental and monitoring equipment.
· Provide IT training andunderstanding under exceptional situations.
TechnicalCompetency
· Technical major in Bachelors ofEngineering or Computer Science
· Technical expertise in managingin blade servers, cluster servers and stand lone servers
