GST - Key Year End Activities
FY 2026-27
With the new financial year around the corner, it is important for companies to ensure adherence to various compliances under the Goods and Services Tax law. Some of the significant compliances are as follows:
- Ensuring unique and consecutively numbered invoice series from 1 April 2026
- Applying for/renewing LUT for FY 2026-27 for export of goods/services without payment of tax
- Assessing applicability and ensuring compliance with E-invoicing provisions
- Re-computation of ITC reversal under Rule 42 based on annual data
- Reconciliation of GST returns with books of accounts to identify and rectify gaps, if any
- Follow-up with vendors to ensure compliance and safeguard Input Tax Credit
- Re-assessment of aggregate turnover to determine applicability of QRMP, Rule 86B, and other provisions
- Identification and claim of unclaimed GST TDS/TCS credits
- Review of HSN/SAC disclosure requirements based on turnover thresholds
- Obtaining declarations from GTAs opting to pay tax under Forward Charge Mechanism
- Review of RCM applicability and related compliances
