Annual Survey of Incorporated Services Sector Enterprises (ASISSE) Companies Receiving ASISSE Notices - Action Required
The National Statistical Office (NSO), Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), Government of India, has commenced the Annual Survey of Incorporated Services Sector Enterprises (ASISSE) for FY 2024-25.
Selected companies are receiving communications from the NSO seeking financial and operational information relating to their business activities. As the survey requires input from multiple functions within an organization, companies receiving such notices should initiate the compliance process as early as possible.
ASISSE is a statistical survey conducted by the NSO to collect information regarding incorporated enterprises and their contribution to the Indian economy. The information collected is used for national accounts, economic analysis, and policy formulation.
The survey generally requires details relating to:
- Financial performance and audited financial statements;
- Revenue and expenditure;
- Employees and manpower;
- Business activities and operations; and
- Fixed assets and capital expenditure.
| Which Companies Are Covered?
|
The survey is conducted on a sample basis and applies only to enterprises selected by the NSO.
While the survey primarily covers incorporated enterprises in the services sector, entities engaged in retail trade and other covered economic activities may also be selected. Companies selected for the survey typically receive an official communication from the NSO containing the reporting requirements and submission instructions.
| What Should Companies Do?
|
Upon receiving an ASISSE notice, companies should:
- Review the reporting requirements and timelines;
- Identify internal stakeholders responsible for providing information;
- Compile the required financial and operational data;
- Complete the survey in accordance with the prescribed instructions; and
- Submit the response within the stipulated timeline.
