Simplified GST Registration to boost compliance, ease of doing business; experts flag low cap, tough exit
The government has rolled out a Simplified Goods and Services Tax (GST) Registration Scheme under Rule 14A of the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Rules, 2017, aimed at easing compliance for small taxpayers and promoting trust-based registration
According to a GSTN advisory issued on November 1, 2025, taxpayers with a monthly output tax liability of up to Rs 2.5 lakh on supplies made to registered persons will be eligible to opt for registration under the scheme. The framework promises faster registration, simplified documentation, and reduced procedural complexity for micro and small businesses.
