CBIC allows self-certification for origin declarations under India-UK CETA
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has issued a circular operationalising the self-certification framework for origin declarations under the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), which comes into force on July 15, 2026. The move replaces the conventional system of certificates of origin issued by designated authorities with a self-declaration mechanism backed by an electronic authentication process.
